Have you guys seen the replacement mid-size truck for the s-10. It is so ugly. It comes with a 220hp inline (Yes this is not a typo) 5 cylinder. Yes I said 5 Cylinder. I also think it weighs over 3300lbs.
Will somebody go and straighten GM out. I thought the SSR was bad enough. I have yet to figure out how they took the LS6 motor and made it run a 15.9 in the Quarter mile. My 4.3 runs a 16.3, am I to believe my $5,000 dollar truck can hang with a $41,000 retro el camino sport looking thingy.
Here is a link to some info about the new Colorado truck. Chevy Mid-size Colorado (http://www.newcars.com/nctd_sneak.php?sneak_id=36)

I could be wrong, but I\'m pretty sure the SSR doesn\'t have the LS6. I remember reading that it has the 5.3 out of the Silverado and full sized trucks. It\'s a little bit of meat to work with but it weighs a boat load. I think the idea behind it is more show than go.
Personally I don\'t like the new replacement for the S10 either. I-5, that\'s interesting to see. Previously the only place you really saw I5\'s were in Volvo\'s. On the other hand the Trailblazer\'s I6 is one hell of a potent engine. Atleast Chevy is trying some new ideas.

Oh and did you notice the base inline 4 engine? 2.8 litre 4 cylinder! That a beefy 4 banger. 175hp isn\'t bad for an engine of it\'s proportion either. Only think I\'d suggest to Chevy is maybe an LS6 option...

Knanthrup, You are right. I Just looked it up at motortrend.com and it has the 5300 vortec motor at 285hp. I guess power isn\'t a big deal for that because most likely the heaviest load it will have to hall is some retired man and his golf clubs. They must of not directed it towards the youth. But one more question. Since the Camaro is gone what is going to be the replacement sports car that is cheaper than the corvette.

Yeah, like I said the SSR is more show than go. They put an engine it it that\'s enough power to please most but no overkill. The new car market is all about what\'s \'practical\'
As far as Camaro replacement, I don\'t think they\'re going to really have one for a while. The GTO is looking to be on it\'s way which will probably be where their focus is going for a while. The Camaro is supposed to be coming back later. Hopefully they won\'t screw it up too much, but it would also be nice for them to unveil a new gen Camaro that will eat the new supercharged mustangs.
The C6 is on it\'s way too. Rumors of some huge horsepower numbers for the C6 Z06.
There has also been talk of a concept Silverado SS short cab with the LS6 and 6 speed T56 trans pushing rear wheel drive. Personally I think that\'s what the SS should be.
