I have the JTR conversion manual but I haveheard there is another conversion manual out there. Can anyone tell me anything about it or where to purchase one. Thanks. This site has been a great help to me. This is my first time rebuilding and engine and doing a conversion. Everyone here has been a great help. This is by far the best S10 V8 page on the Internet. \"Hats off\" to the webmaster and the members that tale the time to contribute! I know I will have a ton of questions before the conversion is done!

When i bought my mounts from advance adapters they sent me a cheap little wanna be manual, had some info but doesnt go into great detail, then again the JTR manual wasnt that fabulous either, only help it gave me was about the different starters and cooling system.

I did actually see another conversion manual on the Internet a few months back....and being dense I didn\'t bookmark it. Now I can\'t find it again. It had a nice coloured cover with dudes working on the engine (like most engine books I suppose). I was hoping someone here would have spotted it too. If I find it in the mean time I will post it here. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

i had to mod the front cross member to clrear the starter, might be able to avoid this if you go to a high torque starter.

other wise this is true.

but i would still recommend the book, has a lot of other info in it, that you might find usefull

Yeah, thats the one made by advance adapters, it\'s not very informative, it does have some good pictures tho.

I ran over to Summit and bought mine before I started my swap. (yeah,I live like 10 minutes from summit racing here in ohio) I thoroughly read through it before I started. There\'s a lot of good points in there. It covers most everything that can go wrong with a swap. Everything they do in the manual is not needed though. Like bashing the firewall all to hell. I think it was worth the money.

Don\'t waste the money on the book, i did and i tossed it in the trash. Buy the TD mounts and it slides right in. Alittle bashing in on the firewall...well alot on the passenger side and no problem. And don\'t believe that crap about hi torque starters. Don\'t waste the money. I have 168 tooth flywheel with the big heavy duty starter. And they said it wouldn\'t fit. The books junk...toss it.

easy there. we sell the book here. all sales here help keep this site up and running and without the sales from the parts.s10v8.com (http://parts.s10v8.com) store this site might not be around. when i did my conversion i had another truck to look at while i was doing mine and i still got the book and i did save some time, but now that this site is here, which is full of great info, the book is not informative compared to the advice you can get from here. hey buy the book, when your done with your conversion, sale the book, like i did. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

Instead of punching in S10v8, punch in v8S10 and JTR they have manuals for just about any V8 conversion

Ok..maybe i was alittle harsh. I\'m an engineer by trade so making things fit is my job. If your inexpienced then buying the book is probaly worth it.

If your going to buy the book, buy it here parts.s10v8.com (http://parts.s10v8.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=21&products_id=28) and support this site, it\'s the same book at the same price, but your doing good for the community. Thanks

In my opinion, the book did help out some. It has a lot of good points, but everything suggested in the book is not needed. I used it to trouble shoot my swap. I have had mine done for over a year, and I still get info from it for someting or another.

Yeah, the book wasnt very helpful to me because I already had it ALL figured out, dern punk kids... point is if i had read the manual, I would have done it way differently and would not have blown my engine from overheating it, and would STILL have my truck, now i have to drive a wrecked 85\' caddy fleetwood(chick magnet)-sarcasm.... damnit it all to hell!

Being an engineer helps alot...I have a buddy that is a professional machineist and he mated a Tremec, chevy 10bolt, and many other goodies to his nissan 240sx. Looks really good but would be alot of hell for the average guy to try and do.
