Depending on how you drive, it may last for years or seconds. If you have sticky tires and feel compelled to launch from every light, it won\'t last long. Driving in a more normal fashion, it will be adequate and is a good choice for a 5 speed.

Is the LT1 going to be stock or modified? If you\'re keeping the LT1 stock, it will hold up fine. If you are using slicks at the track and launching hard then it will be playing russian roulette but if it\'s in good condition then it should still hold a while. I\'m making way more power than an LT1 and my NV3500 has been showing no signs of problems so far. The NV3500 is rated at 300lb.ft. torque and the LT1 stock is rated at about 330 or so. The thing is you probabably aren\'t going to get that much power to the ground unless you\'re running huge slicks and a suspension setup. Even with DR\'s I can\'t even launch over 1600rpms which is still just under the 300lb.ft. rating.

Anyways under most conditions I\'d say yes, if you intend to use it primarily for track then probably not. If you do decide to go with it, you might check out my NV3500 installation guide article on this site.
