Well, I think I f\'d up and cut the alternator wires (the ones that go to the 2-prong plug, not the single power lead). So heres the deal: I got battery to starter (power), two wires from starter (1 small on R post and 1 big on the main power post) to the fuse block I guess. Now there is one single wire left (large gage) so I put that to the main post on the alt. Before I had the alt hooked up (to break the engine in) I put this wire to the main power post on the stater and the truck started. Now, with that wire goes to the alt it won\'t, so I think it has to go back to the starter.
Now, when I put that back I guess I have to run a + wire form the battery to the alt for charging but what do I do for the \"2 prong plug\" on the alt. I must have cut those wires. What are they? It\'s a two prong post/plug on the side of the alt. BTW the alt is from a 84 Suburban and the truck is a 92 Ext cab that had the 2.8L????
Sorry for the long post. Please help.
Ok, this is how mine is setup.
I have a alternator that had the 2 plug setup and it has a power lead on the back of it.
From the power lead on the back it goes to the + on the Battery, then from the powerlead on the back of the alternator it goes to the number 2 prong of the 2 prong plug in on the alternator.
The number 1 prong is not going to anything.
uh, just look at the friggin pic I took.

Mike...you\'re my savior...I\'ll give that a shot.
BTW...what the hell is the one lead I have going to the power post on the alt? It appears that its power for the fuse block because now the radio etc doesn\'t have power to it but the interior/exterior lights work??
Thanks again man! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

One wire is to power the alternator up like what mike did, but that wire is run thru so when ya turn the key on it powers up the alternator, the other one goes to ur fuse panel thats why ur radio is not working, hope that helps!

I found this while searching for a solution to my alternator not charging. Will this work on a 93 s10 with the four prong connector?
