I have just replaced my clutch, throw out bearing and pilot bearing and so forth. maybe a week ago. Today it will not go into gear without grinding like crazy. I try starting it and it lurches forward. I bought a new slave cylinder and still same thing. I have been told a couple things that could be wrong... Maybe the disc is backwards? ( which side is font and which is back?) I have do this a a dozen of so times in the past so I do not believe this but.... and second I was told maybe the clutch master cylinder could be bad as well. The fork does move approx. 1\". Please any help will be appreciated, due to frustration!! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

The clutch is not that bad to work on, except the installation. The whole self aligning throw out bearing is a pain to install. I had mine in my 92 in and out 3X before it went in right. Anyway I also say that the disc is backwards, or the throw out bearing is not mating correctly. I would also make sure that there is plenty of clutch fluid. I could be wrong and it has a mechanical linkage, but those went away in 83 I thought. Anyway just calmly go back over your stuff and see what happens.

can the disc be backwards and still work for a little while and then not?
