Congratulations! I would love to have a 4 speed in mine. What parts did you use(bellhousing, clutch etc) and post some pics.I always thought that it was a PIA to go with a manual.....Jay

yeah, congrats! V8\'s are so much fun to play with. You\'ll need new tires next week too, so save up for those.

it took me 6 months to do mine too. i was happy as a pig in sh*t the day i got it runnin. hooked up the fuel lines and turned the key for less than a second and it fired right up. ill be honest. i almost cried i was so happy. just so happens the day i got it running there was new neighbors movin in 2 houses down so they had to contend with me screamin down the street a good 50 times. within 2 weeks i had to put tires on it.

i give you 6 months to a year before its not quick enough anymore and your looking for stuff to do to the motor to make it just a little bit faster. its like a drug. never enough, always gotta find ways to get more. best drug i ever got addicted to. congrats.

the tranny is a muncie m-22 close ratio. i bought from a guy in illinois. i bought a bellhousing at a swap meet for 10 bucks...that worked out great. i had to go with a hydraulic throwout bearing cuz there was no way to get clutch linkage in there with the hedders. i bought a wilwood master cylinder built for brakes and bolted that to the firewall for the clutch linkage. we had to modify the hedder a little bit, but that was because i got the mototr mounts from jegs and it set teh motor over towards the driver side more. the truck was originally a stick so it already had a clutch pedal. so we engineered some linkage from the pedal to the master cylinder it worked out pretty well. the clutch is a centerforce dual friction. then we got a hurst shifter for a 57\' chevy, that fits beautifully over the bench, it wraps right around. put a manual in was a lil bit more work but it is deff worth it to me. to each his own!!!!!!!!!!!! gotta go out for another drive later.
