I want to use a T5 behind a SBC v8 What is the best setup for a bellhousing? I have heard that earlier (pre 80\'s) bellhousings work but how do you handle the slave cylinder for the clutch? My ride is a 94 GMC Sonoma. Thanks for help http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

you want to use an S10 T5? Ewww, I wouldn\'t recommend that. But if you really want to... you\'ll probably have to purchase the conversion bellhousing from Advanced Adapters, I think it runs at about $300

I have a T5 from a mid 80\'s camaro. But is the advanced bellhousing the only choice? It seems that they are making a lot of money at $300 dollars a piece when you could pick up an older v8 bellhousing for \"change\" if they work.

Thanks riotpolice, I thought so If I go with the older bellhousing do you happen to have any suggestions on how to mount the slave cylinder. It mounts directly to the bellhousing now and the old bellhousings don\'t have that provision on them as they used mechanical clutch operations as opposed to fluid ones?
Thanks I love this wealth of info on s10v8

id just go with a 82-92 camaro/firebird bellhousing. the provision for the salve cylinder is already there. you can get em off of ebay or off of www.car-part.com (http://www.car-part.com) seems easier than tryin to engineer a slave cylinder into an older bellhousing.

The bellhousing I was talking about was for the S10 T5, not the Camaro T5. You didn\'t specify so I was going off my assumption. And yes, the bellhousing is about $300 from them which is why keeping an S10 T5 is not worth it in any way.
As far as the Camaro T5, yeah you can just get one of the older housing for it out of a junkyard or whatnot.
