When I convert my 2002 Xtreme V6/auto with a Corvette LT4/auto:

1) Do I have to change the fuel pump or is the truck\'s stock one have sufficient pressure/capacity?

2) Will the Corvette exhaust manifolds clear everything or do I have to get headers?

3) ....and if I have to get Sanderson shorty headers...I have to install 4 oxygen sensors and where do I locate them?

4) If I use those shorties...can I use the truck\'s stock transmission crossmember?

5) and finally...where to get a custom engine harness for the LT4 into the s10 and where to get the 1996 computer reprogrammed?

.....bunches of questions...help please.

I dont\' think your stock pump will have enough psi. I think my buddies LT1 Z28 has his set stock at 42 or 45.

I\'m not sure about the manifolds. Since that came from a vette. The LT1 manifolds will require you to notch the passanger side frame rail.

Where are the O2 sensors at now? Are they in the bottom of the manifolds? If so, I\'d probably put them in the exhuast pipe, close to the collector. Im not too sure about that one.

I used my stock tranny crossmember when I had my sanderson shorties on. I have my exhaust ran up over crossmeber, nothing hangs down from under the frame.

Jegs has Painless wiring harnesses for EFI\'s. Im sure Painless has something for you. I think that Lee\'s high tech might sell one too. Not sure bout that.

What do you need to get the computer programmed for? Unless you change the motor some way, you should be able to use the stocker.

ZZ4Blazer: Thanks for your reply:

1)The 4 O2 Sensors are laying on my bedroom floor!!! When I bought the engine; I told the seller of the engine that I was gonna use headers; he said \" Oh, then you\'ll need 4 of these\",,,and handed me the 4 sensors. I failed in asking him where they go......you know...so damn excited to be getting the engine.

2) I think I need to get computer reprogrammed to get rid of the VATs system. Maybe speedometer will not read right due to different tire rollout(?).

Someone out there...help!

I dont\' know why there\'s 4. My buddys LT1 Z had 2, one in each of the down pipes.

Not completely sure about disabling the vats. Im not too famiailar with EFI, let alone a LT1/4.

I am pretty sure one of those cheap programmers will allow you to change the tire size, rear end ratio, etc. Like a Hypertech or something.

ZZ4Blazer: your buddies LT1Z...I wonder if it has the OBD2 or OBD1....listen to me.....like I know everything ...NOT!

Also Painless reads that a different PROM with no VATS can be obtained. Will investigate further...also have this same post at S10forum and Lees High Tech guru posts there;so hope to get some good info from him.

Im not sure. I think it is a 94. I can\'t recall the year right now. I know he was able to ditch his cats because of where the sensors were.

Blazer: I have learned that 1 O2 sensor is to be installed at down-pipe after header on each side and 1 O2 sensor is to be installed after cat/before muffler each side: total 4.

He must have the different computer then. Thats why he got away with only having 2, and no cats.
