i know that first generation S 10\'s have the same frame as second generations, so i\'m wondering if the ZR2 suspention would bolt onto my truck without too much trouble. i have an 89 4X4 that came with the 4.3

Nope, the zr2\'s have a different frame than any other s-10. The a-arm mounts are different and to put it in simple terms, it couldn\'t be done, just get a trailmaster lift.

yeah the frames ahev completely different mounts and whatnot. you can use certain parts but not all. i think the perches and mounts give it 2 or 3 more inches

Well it would be alot of money, but why not get a zr2 frame and put it under your truck? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

If you have a cutting torch and a welder you can do about anything. But I don\'t think that zr2 suspension is so good you would actually want to invest time and money into it. The Zq8 is a good suspension but you can easily make your truck handle better.

But the other thing is that you can tell people that you have a zr2 suspension on your 89 just to piss people off. You can even bet them money. It would have good shock value.

Maybe for the back but if your going through all the trouble of doing the front do it right if a sold front axle, dithc the ifs. Most poeple how lift a ifs s10 will tell you stuff breaks too easy!

you could also do a frame swap from an older k5 get solid axles plus a good lift to boot! k5 frame is the right length for our trucks. I choose to use a suburban full length frame and the length difference wasn\'t that much.
