will a 4.3 tranny and transfer case, bolt right up to a 350? if so, will the mounting be the same for the tranny?

Yes, it will bolt right up with the 4.3 flywheel. Without modifications, JTR says that this tranny isn\'t very strong. I helped a friend put a 350 with the 4.3 700r4 and it worked fine. He uses it as a normal everyday driver and doesn\'t \'beat\' on it. Also we had notched the cross member to move aide in moving motor for engine clearnces.We also put in a summmit lockup toggle kit. In mine and the 2 I help with, we had installed 3\" body lifts first.

Mine had a 2.hate and the transfer case is in the same position and the X-member holes for the tranny mount were enlarged. That was all the mods that were needed there. The front X-member was also notched to help the oil-pan fit, since the motor is in the most forward position on the JTR mounts. I had the the TH350 with it, which is a direct replacement (with the adapter) for the 700R4.

The only difference i know of with the 4.3 tranny is that the ears are cut off of the bellhousing for exhaust clerance.

I just lerarned the hard way that the 4.3 tranny is not very strong, went out playing in the mud and snow and just shelled the tranny, well its time for a full size one now

depending on the year of the vehilce the tranny from a 4.3 and 350 wold be internally the same.
