Finally got the motor in my S15 and now it appears to be broke. Was running ok before I put it in. 350/350 combo . When I started it, it smokes white smoke, like a blown head gasket, but I don\'t see any water in the oil or radiator. Pulled all the plugs and they all look the same (a little rich) except for number six, it is light golden tan. Spun the motor without plugs and didn\'t see any water come from any cylender. Any Ideas???

Did you change intake manifolds during the swap? Did you use an intake bolt to hoist from, especially around number 6? It\'s possible you cracked the head between an intake port and a water jacket, but more likely it\'s a head gasket. Do a compression check to be sure. You can\'t always see a bad gasket.

I would first just let the truck warm up and the cut it off and let it sit for a day and take the carb off. If there is coolant in the intake, then the coolant from the intake is coming into the cylinders. check the intake gasket also check the torque of the bolts on the intake. If that is not it, then I would go with 327isuzu\'s ideas.

You can also look for bubbles in the overflow or radiator with the truck running. Sometimes they will leak compression into the coolant system, and will cause them to bubble. Also, you might want to try a leak down test as well as a compression test. If you do a compression test, make sure to keep the battery charged and the temp consistent to avoid variations.

Thanks guys.....I did have bubbles in the rad but no water in the oil. Went ahead and changed the head gaskets and hope that will solve the problem. Now if the rain lets up, I can try it again. It sucks not having a garage or shop. Thanks again guys.
