Im thinking of making my swap easier and installing a set of manifolds onto my 406 SBC. Would a set off a 305 SBC bolt right up? Im jsut tyring ot make the install a lil more easier for now and cheaper sicne i can get a set 0f 305 man\'s for free.. Not interested in emissions. Oh, motor is going in a 1988 2wd, short bed, no ps,pb,ac truck that now has the 2.5 and 5 speed...

The manifolds would probably be harder than a set of headers to install. And you say that you want to put the manifolds in for now to save money, but that means that later you will have to change the way your exhaust is rounted out of the engine compartment. So that will cost too. But to answer your question, yes the manifolds will bolt up too the 406 just fine.

It depends on the heads you use.The 305 manifolds are probably for the heads with the 7 bolt holes and if you use the old 6 bolt hole heads you\'ll have to leave out the back bolt on the passengers side or make an adapter to get it to work.
