On my \'95 s-10 I put a temporary 4.3 in with the stock tbi. When it is idling it tends to kinda spit and sputter sometimes, but other times it won\'t. I drained the gas, and ran some Lucas Oils injector cleaner through it to see if that would help, it helped a little, but it still does it. What do I need to do to get it to run smoother?

What kind of a motor did you have originally? Was it a 95 fuel injected 4.3? Many of the 95s had different fuel injection than the TBI. I would check fuel pressure since the fuel pump you have might have too high fuel pressure for the TBI unit.

I actually just used the same TBI setup that was on the original motor, and put it on the replacement motor.

If the is on of the ones where the egr port is in the front near the t-stat housing then it is very possible that there is a piece of carbon getting cought between the needle and the seat. This is VERY common with higher mileage engines (over 60k). You could try to clean the carbon clumps out the best you can. More than likely you will have to repeat this 3 or 4 times over a couple days. It may take that many tries before you get enough out.

do a full carb clean on the engine, check your fuel pressure, any trouble codes or is the engine light on?
