I might be getting a really good deal on a 350 out of an 89 suburban. Free! So instead of waiting and saving up for an efi motor I was thinking of putting this in my truck. But there is one problem. My truck is computer controlled everthing.

It is a 98 regular cab with a 4.3L v6. I have a 4L60e electronic transmission. I don\'t care about emissions. Screw\'em. But my truck\'s v6 is full of them. If I was to transplant a carburated 350 into my truck would it make my computer go nuts?

you either have to get a 700R4 since it is the non-computer controlled version of the same tranny. If that is not what you want, then you will have to get the harness, possibly heads from a late model FI car/truck. Also you will need the intake, sensors, distributor from a donor vehicle that has the FI on a hurt SBC. I guess the last choice is to have a stand alone computer for the 4L60E. I think they make those.

They make the stand alone computers, but they\'re like $700.

Screw that. By the time I get all of that crap done I could of bought a FI big block. Or slap a turbo on my 4.3L. Too bad I have computer truck. Cause a free motor sounds like a deal. Even if I made it FI\'ed I think the computer still wouldn\'t know what to do.
