Oil Cooler Adapter

I got a 350 from a Caprice police car. It has an oil cooler and I would really like to use it. There is an adapter that bolts to the block and then the oil filter is screwed into it. It adds about 5\" to the length of the filter. I\'m not worried about mounting the cooler. It\'s the adapter that worries me. Do you think it will fit? My truck is 2WD and I will be running Hedman shorties if it matters.

I think you are in trouble with the stock adaptor. I know what you\'re talking about. That was my first car. A highway patrol caprice. I believe Perma-Cool makes a sandwich adaptor that is about an inch thick. Look for it.

What will it interfere with? It\'s too damn cold out to climb under the truck and look.
