OK, So a pushrod fell out of place because it the rocker was too loose. Now I cant find it, where could it be? Will I have to take the intake manifold off to find it?

Yes, you will. And the next thing would be to take bets as to whether or not its bent.

LOL. It\'s probably laying in the lifter valley.
Oh yeah, bent.

I have been working on cars and building motors for 18 years and have never seen a pushrod vanish. On a stock head you only have a small hole for the pushrod to go thru and I have never seen one just gone , bent and thru the rocker arm yes, so I think it is a trick question.

you could try a long magnetic thingy to try to get it out of the gally. Auto zone has em for like 5 bucks. Has a really powerfull rare earth magnet in the tip and can go from 6 inches to 3 ft long.

found it, was laying above the lifters, didn\'t have to pull the intake manifold after all

I\'m impressed that you were able to get it out through the push rod holes, they are pretty small. Oh, by the way, I think it is probably bent.

I\'ve lost 1 push rod in my years of playing with cars. Seriously!!! I downshifted and over reved a 307 in a 72 nova w/3spd and shot the lifter thru the valve cover and thru the hood. Before it poped it was making all kinds of racket. I just couldn\'t let that mustang pass me!!! That engine obouisly didn\'t last long after that.

LOL I love it when engine internals become externals. Unless, of course, it\'s my engine. I\'ve never seen valve train parts go flying. It\'s usually rods.
