Any of you guys take a 4wd s-10 v8 and build it to drag race duty? Say lowered and all wheel drag radials? what would be the problems? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

For drag use? Go with AWD
yeah 4wd can definitly not be drag raced, your tcase would die.

Obviously the typhoons and syclones are 4wd and made for the street. And I think that there are plenty of transfer cases that can handle some serious power. Especially in a light truck.
But fine tuning it will drive you insane. You will need new leaf springs, shocks, drive shafts, and other little crap. Also when you put it all together and it doesn\'t work just right. Well you\'ll have to rip it apart again. If you are talking from changing a 2wd to a 4wd I think that\'ll be harder.
Plus if you plan to run slicks you\'ll need a new rearend with new axles, gears, etc. And you\'ll need to bullet proof your tranny and gear case. Or you\'ll end up towing it home from the dragway. Which I guess with slicks you\'ll be towing it anyways. So you should be o.k.
the sy/tys are AWD NOT 4wd. If you drive 4wd on the street you will ruin it. Awd only puts power to the front if it slips.

no no i mean 450 hp 350 in a 4 wheel drive s-10, that will be street legal, but will be raced sometimes...I guess the question is has anyone done this before? I would run a th350 and transfer case from something fullsize (or just something stronger thats stock), lower the suspension a little and keep everything else stock. Maybe some 15x10 draglites on all 4rs?

you will need an AWD transfer case, a 4wd will not work. There are alot of people that have done awd s10s
not sure, alot of astro vans have awd, and those can be picked up pretty cheap when rusted out
otherwise check the newspaper
