Trying to decide between SB 350 and BB 396. How much harder would it be to put in the 396? I\'d like to have the big block, but it all depends on how much more is involved in fitting it in the truck versus the small block. Any thoughts?

Thanks

My opinion go with a smallblock because its tried and true. Traction: Getting a SB to hook up is the hardest part of one of these trucks and I can only guess the torque of a BB would make that harder.

I can already tell you what 454 is going to say but we\'ll wait til he sees this post.

First gen or 2nd?

1st gen. I was kinda thinkin the same thing. I want to be able to use it as an almost everyday driver. Small block parts are easier to find and cheaper. The only reason I was thinking about the 396 is because it\'s sitting in my shop. My uncle was going to put it in his 70 1/2 Camaro RS/Z28.

454 has said that it doesnt take any more work than a small block, which seems about right.

Im going big block in my truck now, and for better weight transfer im movin the motor into the firewall like Lowerreds truck.

talk to 454 hell tell you how it is.
