Okay, for all out there who have yet to buy headers, BUY SHORTIES! My hedman long tubes in conjunction with the TD Performance adapter plates would probably be easy on a pickup, but the blazers have a 1 inch pad on the mount areas. Needless to say they have been a NIGHTMARE. Tons of hammering to clearance the tranny as well as the headers. My question is for those of you out there with the Hedman long tubes, did everyone have to install a floor shifter? My gear shift linkage is in the way, just wondering if that is typical. Man do I wish I got the shorties. Oh well.

its done now, theyre in. was just a huge undertaking. if i had it to do over, id go shorties. on the up side, all i have to do now is bolt on my mufflers. dont have to get it to a shop. flowmasters bolted onto the longtubes should be fun.

what kind of headers can I use if I have the TPI intake. Can I use the normal headers and then convert them to be used with the TPI?

Your intake does\'nt make a difference in what header you use(i.e long or short) As long as they fit your heads.

i just got my blazer back from a exhaust shop yesterday, it sounds great. I used Flowtech shorty headers with 2 1/2in. dual exhaust pipes to 40 series flowmasters. I had dynomax full headers but i would of had to notch the frame, bang passenger firewall, cut ear off of tranny(350turbo), and convert to floorshifter.
With shorty headers i only had to bang passenger firewall and convert to a floor shifter. If that helps anyone with header problems...
