i have an 89 s10 automatic with over drive. their doing a v8 engine swap as we speak but the only problem is that i know nothing about rear ends. it was a four banger a it would burn out with one tire. how and what do i need in order to make both my tires spin. its still the stock rear end. please some help and fast.

You will need a new differential case, and probably want to change your ratio as long as you are in there. Also new bearings since they can get damaged during removal and are probably pretty used up.

Eaton posi case- $335

Gear set- $140 (3.08, 3.42, 3.73, 4.10, 4.56)

Bearing/Install kit- $74.35

Free shipping for orders over $500. If you are just looking to do 2 wheel burn outs, then all you need is the posi case, but the gear set will get you more performance over the stock ratio if you step it up. I have seen cars drop a full second going from a 2.73 to 3.73. More than likely you have a 3.08, and with an overdrive, a 3.73 is a very nice street gear- you could even go 4.10 with no problem. Tire height makes a difference with gear selection also.

You can also get the parts used or maybe get the whole diff and swapit at once, saves some bucks . Just have someone who knows what to look for...
