I recently spoke to a GM parts guy; he check my VIN and said I had a 4.11 rear end. I would like to know if that is good and what effect going to a lower gear ratio would have on my truck

4x4 Blazer: 305, 700r4, 32\" tires, 4:11 gears

I think that rearend is just right for you. To go to a lower ratio will not hurt, since gas mlieage will be better. The 411 gears will get you out of the hole faster but it might cause you to have serious traction problems.

With the 32\" tires and an O/D trans, I would stick with the 4.11. The most important thing is whether or not you like the way it drives, off the line and highway.

I would agree! My has 3.73\'s and it is the best of both worlds. I run 235/75r15LT \'s. With the 32\'s I say stick with the 4.11\'s the taller tire will knock down the overall ratio a little in comparision to a stock set of tires.

Hey, thanks guys, I just wanted some confidence with what I have. I don\'t know much about rear ends, not my thing.
