How much front end drop can i anticipate with a change from a 2.54cyl to a 400 sbc?

Do is need to get the drop spindles or can i get away with the stock parts?

Can i cut a little of the springs?

Anybody using less leafs on the back than is stock?

i put in 2\" drop spindles. i also bought a set of chassis tech 3\" springs. i wanted the truck low so i got the coils that are for a 4 cylinder reg cab truck. it dropped the front almost 7\". the front skidplate is probably 2-3\" off the ground. in the rear i have helper springs that the previous owner installed. i took these out, along with another leaf from the pack. i then added 3\" blocks to the rear. the truck sits pretty low.

ive heard that it will vary on how much it will drop the front with just the wieght of the motor.

i also used to have cut coils and it sucked. spend the 40 bucks and buy a set of drop ones.
