Front head lights

i have 96 S-10.. i want to take the front grill assembly from a 97 s-10 will it bolt up? i sdislike my square headlights and would much rather have the rectangle lights.

it will work...you just have to buy the WHOLE assembly even the wiring from a 98-2003

I thought the core support was different also?

i think it was different too but im not 100% check it all out before you start buying

also...a 97 is still the square headlights...they changed in 98

core support is different for the newer 98+ headlights and grille

i am doing the same thing to my 97 and yes you have to buy the whole thing including the core support. and the complete wire harness. do alot of junk yard hunting you can usually find anything you need. but dont buy factory lights you will get rapped. you can get clear diamond apc lights for cheaper than factory. I got my core support new from a friends salvage yard for 125 and a harness out of a 02 for 40. just do alot of hunting and you cna make it happen for a few hundred.

thats all pretty good advice. Except i dont have very many junk yards around here. My friend gave me the truck it had a busted passenger side window. it costed me 110 for the replacement window.. and that was a used price.. new from GM was around 175. with the same friends discount. he works for the local GM dealer. i guess ill hit ebay and call a few junk yards. see if i have any luck.. thanks guys for the input it helps alot http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

yeah chief the 97 grilles are the exact same thing as the 96 grilles, 98 and up is the newest style
