S-10 & S-15 rearends

A friend of mine told me that Chevy S-10\'s came out with stock 4.11 gears and GMC S-15\'s came out with stock 3.54 gears in them. Is this true?

i dont think so. look in the glove box. the sticker has the codes and will show what gears you have. i dont remember the codes but i found them on this site.

if it helps mine is a 91 s10. it had the 2.5 with a 5 speed. it has 3.73.

i had an 87 with a 2.5 with a 4 speed and it felt quite a bit different. this could have been the tranny but i think it was different gears.
