If your looking for slicks, get yourself a set of Mickey Tompson ET street slicks. They are exactly like a set of full racing slicks, except 3 tiny, tiny grooves in the tread, which got them a DOT rating. Go with a 26x10.5\" tire.

Now, if your pushing 450 hp as you advertise, and you run those slicks, chances are when you hook up on a hard lauch your rear end is gonna die, lol. Are you sure you have the 7.5? Most of the 90+ s-series had the 7 5/8\'s rear, which is marginally stronger.

The D.O.T M/T ET Street is NOT, i repeat, IS NOT the same as the E/T Drag. The E/T street has a stiffer sidewall to meet d.o.t regulations. An e/t street is marginally shorter in a 26x10.5 than i 26x10.5 E/T drag. If you are running a street then when you bolt up a set of the drags you will lose gearing due to the taller tire. Also the E/T drags HOOK LIKE THERE IS NO TOMARROW!! Compared to the E/T Street. With the Street my buddy went 1.7x 60fts and with the same size drag he went 1.64! There is no comparison.PERIOD

I have a question regarding switching to slicks at the track. Does having a bias ply rear and a radial front make the thing squirrelly at the big end?

I think it does a little, not enough to make you wanna back outa it, but on my friends 2002 camaro, when he puts on the slicks(with 12psi) it feels a little wobbley at the top-end, but there is really no reason to worry about it. I think that it might just be the fact that there is only 12psi in them.
