okay... just got tags for it, i spent 212.85. im not including cost of the truck ($1800), insurance, registration, etc. just parts and mods in the \'money spent\'
u-joints, first thing to go due to a bad vibration above 30: $11/ea
P/S fluid, high mount brake light bulb, fog light relay, plate mounting bolts $9.82
after i got the fog relay in, one of the bulbs was blown, $8.47 for a flippin bulb http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif
at this point it still needs:
washer fluid, coolant flush, a screw for the driver outer door handle, a stereo, diff fluid chance, oil change, tranny fluid change. its got about 126K on it. more to come soon...

The dollars always exceded compared to the Sense. Nothing costs cents anymore. But the \'Beat\' lives on.

today i spent $3.17 on an oil filter. did oil, tranny and diff fluids. someone had gear oil in the tranny, i put in atf that the book calls for. it doesnt grind 2nd anymore unless i really rail on it. third still grinds but not as bad. i looked up at the tranny for the drain and fill plugs and thought, uh-oh. it didnt look like a 17mm hex and the only hex i have bigger than 10mm is a 17mm. lucky me.
i also spent $6.30 for another ign key.
$40.34
+6.30
+3.17
=$49.81

I started a spread sheet to keep track of what I spent on my swap. A friend of mine who is doing a 1969 Torino told me \"You\'ll be sorry, you never keep track of the money because really don\'t want to know?\" He\'s right!! Enjoy the ride and every penny it takes to get there.

Ya I have a complete record of my truck and now I just stuff the reciepts into the binder and keep on going .How can you put a price on happiness !!

i just came to the sad realization yesterday on how much i have into my ride and then i added up how much i need to finish it the way i want it before the car shows come up this year and was basicly hit wiht a large brick in the face... i still have 4 g worth left to do my exterior mods and only have 4 months till the show i want to goto. and that does nothing to my interior. adding it up realy is a kick in the nutz. so i dont think i am going to do that anymore.

I\'m of the \" don\'t add it up , you don\'t want to know \" mindset.
The grin of acceleration is way better than the grim of realizing the money you spent.
p.s. NEVER tell your wife how much $$ you\'ve spent

I came to the point to where theres no way i could sell my truck and get half my money i got in mine so that means im just gonna have to keep it for ever.

It is rather easy to track the money, not including your favorite beverages being consumed in large quantities while working/planning, have you every tracked the time?

Mine spent many years hauling me and tons of whatever so initial cost is zero.Went to price its replacement and decided that they really don`t have what I want and they want way too much for what they have(they being car dealers)! Now I get it exactly as I want with a lifetime, unlimited mileage complete coverage warranty, and since I just got married back when starting this project I also get to keep the chick on the fender http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif What more could a guy ask for http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

Keepin reciepts on all ya spent is like leaving a girls phone number in your wallet for your wife to find...........not a good idea.I dont keep track of it,thats what I pay my discover card to do.I have a good idea of what ive spent just in converting my perfectly good running s-10 and it makes me ill.I pulled the motor out of my nova to build a supercharged one for it ,and had this extra motor laying around so I thought why not? why not, Ill tell ya spent so much on truck the blower motor is on hold for about 5 yrs.........so do yourself a favor and quite adding up or youll make yourself sick.....

I\'ve been keepin track mentally. I\'m hoping amnesia is going to kick in somewhat soon though so I can start back at zero lol. So far I\'ve got around 2 grand spent on the motor. Still need another grand till I can take it home from the machine shop, then I still gotta get a tranny, radiator, mounts, and exhaust just to get it running.........want to switch over to posi, get a 2\" cowl hood, nicer grille, redo the brakes, how about a sound system too? I think I\'m ready to start back at zero.........anybody want to hit me on the head? Pretty please?!?!?!?!?!
