Ok i ound out why my swaybar wont mount up properly.
Before i got the truck my father did 4.5\" homemade suspension lift.
Because of this lift the swaybar was in a really angled position, with the bushings shot there was enough slack to fit it, but with new bushings it wont fit. To make it fit i need to bend it.
Is it possible to heat it and bend it with out it losing its strength.
The fron swaybar is made from spring steel.

i would doubt it,, u will probably make it more brittle and might break easier.

I cut and narrowed both my front and rear sway bars by 6 inches. I welded them back together myself and ground all the welds smooth. i drive it hard and haven\'t even had a crack yet. By heating them up you would probaly cause them to loose some stiffness, but if you can cut them and weld them, i don\'t see why you would have a problem.

well i would think about driving conditions, if your gonna drive it hard id probably to the extinsive mod like ol\' boy said earlier, but if its gonna stay on the road mostly id just bend it, you gotta think, your not gonna be ramping it or anything like that i hope, as u said its just spring steal.

can\'t you just lower the bracket where the bushing mounts? I know that is all I did after putting a 12 inch lift in my 82 fullsize blazer.

I did the same thing as Chevydog on my Bronco II, Just unbolt the mounts off the frame and put something there to take up the space you need. Maybe some 2\" square stock would be enough.

I got my swaybar all bolted back into place and i used 2\" square stock steel to drop the frame mounted bushings.
I had t olower my torsion bars back down to bolt it back up.
But when i was cranking the torsion bars back up striped the threads on either the bolt or the little metal piece so my fron end is sitting about 2\" lower than it used to.
