Dana 60\'s are awesome! They can be built super cheap too! There aren\'t as many ratios as 9\", but there are enough. It has a 9.75\" ring gear, and Dana/Spicer designs some of the best rears out there! All the real serious Hemi cars in the 60\'s had Dana 60\'s. You could also do a Dana 44, which is a 8.5\" ring. Try DTS, Im pretty sure the phone number is 800-521-0628. Ask for Gordon, and tell him Mike from NDT Chicago told you to give him a call. I know they did them before, and they still should. If not, PM me and I will find you a place.

Yep it wont break! very good rear end. Use it and abuse it. I had one for my 72 dart and my 72 challenger. If you need one contact me.

arent the Dana 60\'s really heavy? A built 60 would be overkill for most applications.

A Dana 60 is heavy, but it takes less power to drive than a 9\". A 9\" is one of the worst power robbing rears out there. You do add un-sprung and reciprocating weight, but you need over 700-800 HP to even think about breaking a properly built Dana 60. Before they started making purpose built rears most of the NHRA was running 60\'s. A lot of the older tow vehicles that they use to taxi commercial jets at the airports use Dana 60\'s, the newer ones use mostly Dana 70\'s.
