I got a 91 blazer, 4.3 4x4 auto.. with a no move condition, bought it REALLY CHEAP that way.. guy said tranny shop said it was the transfer case, Doesn\'t move in 2 high, 4 high or 4 low. almost sounds like rod knock/cracked flywheel when put into 4 high or low?? Tranny fluid isn\'t burnt and looks pinkish still, thought maybe rear end.. but putting t-case in 4-anything it should still move the trunck.. right?? whats in these things??? np231??? anybody knw what year t-cases will interchange?(electronic speedo, floor shifted) Thanks, Chris

I believe that the NP231 and 207 interchange. There is a red tag on the tcase that tells you what it is. IF the rearend is busted, the speedo would be jumping, but the truck would not move.

Probably a chain or planetary set broken. Could also be one of the shifting forks. All pretty cheap, but labor can cost you.
