Hey guys,

When I bought my truck, the stock speedo didn\'t work. After taking the dash apart, I find that the speedo cable doesn\'t spin when the truck is moving. I\'m putting new autometer gauges in anyway, but am going to go ahead and replace the cable. Will a new s-10 cable fit the autometer speedometer? Do any of you have any experience with the \"universal speedometer cable kits\"? They\'re only a few bucks and it looks like it\'d give me an extra couple of inches to work with. Anyhelp is appreciated.

Thanks,

Jeff

I think there are only 2 different screw on end sizes, but I think an S10 cable should fit the speedo. Lots of times, the speedo has 2 different sizes on it.

i\'ve been looking at the same setup, does anyone know how difficult it is to calibrate the speedo?

Depends on which autometer speedo you have. Mechanical has to be calibrated by changing the speedo gears at the trans. Electronic is calibrated according to the instructions with the speedo.
