um to use the stock electric pump ya have to add a fuel pressure regulator, holley has one for it , and have to hook up a wire for the fuel pump for it to work!

i used a mallory 3 port regulator. any will work aslong as it has a return port, so the pump doesn\'t burn out. In the back of the original motor is a 3 prong plug in, this is your oil pressure shut off switch. It shuts off power to the electric pump if you loose oil pressure. Cut and run the brown and white wire dirrectly to the ACC in your fuse box. By doing this you bypass the factory cumputer and it fools the pump into thinking that there is always oil pressure. If you need to know more just PM me and i can walk you through it. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif

I think it would be cheaper to just disconnect the electric fuel pump and use your mechanical pump. I think those pressure regulators are like $80.

a mechanical fuel pump will pull fuel through the pump in the tank?

My friend\'s truck is set up like that. Mine is motorless at the time but it will be the same way.

Also if your electric pump goes out you have to drop your tank to replace it. I don\'t know about you but dropping gas tanks isn\'t on the top of my list for fun things to do to cars.

i use the stock one in my purple truck and it works great u do have to regulate it i also jumped the wires in the fuse box to keep it running and added a toggle switch under the dash to shut it off .where it comes out at i split it to 2 regulators one for the nitrous and the other for the carb.

I have have an electric pump also in my 92. I was going to use a mechanical pump and pull through the electric one. Do I have to do anthing special to the pump or can i hook the mechanical up to the fuel outputs in the front crossmember and have a turn key engine? Will I have to cap off the fuel return since it is not neccassary anymore? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif
