Im in the process of wiring my 97 S10 and i am running into a couple of problems. Ok for starters i eliminated the wire harness that plugged into the stock 2.2L, I left the rest for the lights horn ect... I relocated the battery to the rear of the truck then ran a wire from the alternator to the stock distribution block mounted on the driverside fender, it has like five poles on it and the ones being used have fusable links on them. Well that gave me power to the truck. But the problem is is some things aren\'t working right, I have power to the head lights high/low, Marker/Tail lights, Horn, Turn Signals and they all work. The problem is with the dome light, wipers vanity mirrors, they aren\'t working and they seem to have power on they\'re ground. On the dome light if you remove the bulb each pole has power. The wiper harness the only thing that has power it the center wire which is blck so im assuming that its a ground. The motor is put in with an engine plate so its in solid. What gives here????

sounds like you deff. have a ground wire put to power somewhere in your rewiring of your truck. double check all your power connections that you made in the harness and make sure you did not ground one of them.

Well I have goodluck http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif I went back out and was tracing through the wiring and checked the wires going to the lights up front. I still have some of the harness up front and i found the plug for the hood light. I checked this plug and it had power to both ground and power. So i grounded the ground wire in the harness and that fixed the problem. Now i wasn\'t thinkin of this at the time but i have the grill out and the headlights so im wondering if because the two headlights weren\'t pluged in thats where the ground problem is? I will plug those in and see if that solves the problem, if not i will just ground the hood lamp gound out if that makes sense. But i really think that headlights are where my problem is. Thanks I will keep you posted.
