Alright i\'ve had it, my 2.8 will not die!!!!! I can\'t see putting unwanted miles on my 350 ,if ol\" betsy isn\'t going to die. It has lifter tap, a rod knock and, leaks about a quart of oil a week.Real piece of shiat!! I\'ve done everthing to kill it including : Running it extremely low on oil for long periods of time. Beat it with a sledge hammer, when stuff has gone wrong in the process of rebuilding the front end. I have only used the finest tap water that ohio has to offer, in the radiator all winter long!! I\'m currently running it with no oil cap , air cleaner and dipstick. I though about running nos through it. I would like fireworks, to begin the new rebirth of my blazer.Any and all suggestions are welcome.
P.S I thought you guys would like this.

I know what you mean. We tried to kill the 2.8 in my friend\'s car. We used it to test a supercharger setup. Killed the trans in like 4 hours. So we wanted to finish it off. Put it to the floor in park for what felt like forever. The exhaust was so hot that bright red pieces of the catalyst were flying out of the tailpipe. But that damn engine never quit. Also, my friend\'s dad has a 2.8 S10 with 350,000 on it. Original motor. Nothing big ever replaced on it. And that\'s in the hills of PA. Damn things just won\'t die!

oh the possibilities!! i\'d run deisel fuel in it....
and to fix that oil leak: DONT ADD OIL!!! i had an old nissan pickup that didnt leak, but BURNED 2 quarts a week just driving to school and back! and oh man, the smoke this * spat out!! leave it idling at a red light for a couple minutes and the entire intersection would be in a giant cloud of smog! i got so many middle fingers driving that thing! so finally i just stopped feeding it oil... no smoke but still ran for about another week!
I had old 78 chevy pup, the great one called the chevy love truck. Hell I throught a rod in it and used shim stock on the rod cap and buff out the crank with some old sand paper I had, burned 4 qts a week used gear lube in it old trans fluid in it and never change the filter. ran the thing for three year like that, till one cold morning she made a bang! and I was in the house, I just pick up the phone and called the bone yard. God bless that truck!

Why dont you just uuummmmmm just pull it out and put the 350 in it why try to kill it.
because that wouldnt be any fun.
put some silica sand in the oil. or perhaps put a box of moth balls in the gas tank, a friend of mine did that with his 2.8 camaro and he said there was alot more power untill it died a few days later.

Make like a commercial and see how long it will run without oil. Warm it up, rev it up to a good couple grand, and drain the oil while it\'s still at high rpms.

Get a cylider of medical Oxygen and plum it into the air cleaner. Just keep a fire extinguisher handy. You will deffinetly get more power that way, at keast as long as the rods and mains hold up. Oxygen isnt flamable, but it will make the fuel and anything else that catches fire burn hotter and faster. If you do it, film it!
