Somebody said a 8.8\" out of a 98 ford explorer is a good rear. He said it was the right width. I would say you would have to weld spring perches but should be fairly easy. Also they have limited slip!

check into a camaro type 12 bolt that was on the late 60s and early 70s, it may work to...i believe they were leaf spring rear a that time, they should work alright though, and ol\' boy above is right the ford 8.8\" rear from the esepecially from mustang gt...if u can find a newer s10 4x4 zr2 axle which has a GM 8.5 differential and 3.73/4.11 posi, or just a reg ol\' 4.3/4x4 axle which is a 7.625 28 spline vs. the 7.5 26 spline...more than likly your stock one will hold up for some time depending on how u drive it...especially if u dont hav posi, there is hardly much strain on the rear end cause of the so call 1 wheel peal. its just a 350 it\'ll just sound real good, shoudnt rip anything up unless you gave it some balls..anyway good luck on your axles.

No s-series were 12 bolts. The 4x4 rear ends are no different, other than them being 4\" longer.

The ZR2 rear end is 4\" longer than a 4x4 rear end. Which makes it 8\" longer than a regular 2wd rear end. The stealth conversions book says that it won\'t even bolt into a 1st gen s-series because of that. 2nd gen s-series (94+) are a few inches wider than the 1st gens. THose ZR2 trucks have huge fender flares too.

The camaro rears are too wide. Just like about everything else.

i have a 94 s-10 just do what iam doing now i cant hook up at the track so iam putting a set of 410 gears for a 7.5 rear with a mini spool then running a set of M/t street ets 27x11.5 15 but if you have a stock 350 keep the stock rear i have about 450hp

the stock 7 5/8\" diff out of a 88-93 s-10 with a stock limited slip can handle an easy 350hp guy in town has a 383 stroker and a 225 shot of nitrous my guess is about 600 hp and he\'s runnign the stock rear in his trans am which is virtually the identical diff... his tranny scatters before the diff... amn t5\'s he switched to a 700r though now
