As long as you can get .035 wire and run it with gas. Crank that voltage and let her rip!!

you can use .030 wire and weld up to 1/4 inch plate with muliple passes. 110 is fine for most anything on a car or truck, when you get into heavy steel than you would use 220 or a 3 phase welder.

hey i can ask my welding instructor about it tomorrow for you ... i mean he was only welding for 45 years... and he builds street rods once and a while he might know... but i been welding for 3 years 110amps sounds low.. id say 150 would give you good penetration, you know anyones welder you could borrow? even a stick welder would work if you can weld with one.....

If you have 110, and have good wiring in your garage, or wherever you are welding, crank the voltage, and you will be fine as long as you are running gas. I might not have been welding for 45 years, but I have been for 7 years. I have taught also. If thats what you have, it will be OK. You will need .035 wire AND gas. I bagged my S10 with a Craftsman wire feed. The biggest 115 (110) that they have. No busted welds on a V8 fourlink, cause 110 is good! http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_cool.gif

ok, i asked my teacher he said if you know wat your doing it will be ok and if its possible make multiple passes, and weave for vertical up and you should be fine... and i didnt ask are you welding with gas, if your not i would wait till you get gas and the right wire...make sure you dont have a fan on or anything that could cause the gas to blow away and cause you to get perosity...
