Ever just can\'t decide on something? Which would you guys run on your truck. Leaf springs or ladder bars. I am building a 383 and when i put it in I want to change the rearend. I want it lowered about 4 inches from where it is now. I was thinking about either going with de-arched leaf springs with a slide-a-link or ladder bars. The motor ain\'t going to have a ton of power maybe around 450 at the flywheel. And i drive on the street alot. What do you suggest?

If you\'re deciding between ladder bars or leafs I\'d DEFINATELY say ladder bars. A 4 link is optimal and all ladder bars are is a non-adjustable 4 link. Many people prefer ladder bars to 4 links for street cars.

Leafs springs + hp = wheel hop

leaf springs + caltrac + 600hp= no wheel hop.

5.80 1/8 mile times 1.48 60 ft. leaf springs are far more streetable than ladder bars. With ladder bars you have to use floaters wich in my experience is not the best for street and strip

I have my version of caltracs and i have no wheel hop either, just stop those springs from winding up and youll be fine

and keep your rear end! the stock 7.5 inch 10 bolt will handle 400 hp at the wheels if built correctly! read Chevy High Performance Mag, the newest issue has a huge article on it and it was enough to make me reconsider getting a bigger rear! save your money and wait till it breaks, then buy something stronger! without wheelhop breaking the 7.5 will be pretty tough to do!

I ain\'t replacing the rearend until it breaks. No since in fixing it if it ain\'t broken.

If I do go with ladder bars and coil overs will i Have to do a lot of frame work or just mounting brackets.

Still leaf springs would be easier and there is proof that people can get them to hook just as good.

Its a hard decision.
