i seen on LHT\'s page about the custom making of harnesses so you dont have to do any splicing. exactly how does that work? i know that it makes wire hookup easier but how do they adapt the harness to do that? help me please help me please

Ive seen his wire harnesses. I dont wanna piss anybody off, but I think that they are Painless Wiring harnesses. They are more than Painless\' too. I would use a Painless Harness. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

My truck has a Painless 12 circut in it. Not at all hard to install. And not very expensive.

the part i may be confused about is what they moddify the harness to connect up to? im guessing so that everything thats still s10 in the truck will match up to the camaro harness?

I dont know what they do. Probably splices the Painless harness into your power supply and thats it. The Painless kit is a stand alone harness, meaning you dont touch your existing harness, just put power to the Painless one. GRAVY.

With the Painless harness you remove all of your existing wiring including your fuse box. Then you put in the Painless fuse box included with the kit and start wiring. Takes the better part of a weekend to get it right, but worth the time.

Leightweight, on the LT1 harness, it works with the vehicles wiring thats alreasy there. Its not a rewire like the 12 universal you said you have. It has the LT1 hookups and nothing else.

this is what i thought it did. the lt1 harness is modified so you can connect up the s10 harnesses for fuses, gauges, climate controls, and whatever else im forgetting. is this right?

Ya know.... I don\'t mea to piss anyone off... but I have never bought anything from Painless Wiring in my life. My harnesses ar ebuilt by me from scratch. I have all of the wire, the connectors are bought from Pioneer Standard Electronics (powerandsignal.com) as well as all of the tools and terminals. My harnesses are not spliced in anyway, they are not an engine harness that is modified. They are built from the ground up designed specifically for what engine is going in what truck. They are designed to plug right in to the engine and the vehicle with little or no splicing depending on the application. If I can give any specific details on how that works, let me know.

Go to Leeshightech.com and then scroll down to locate FAQ. It says that for an LT1; the original truck harness is retained but not used to run the engine. Running the engine is done by their wiring harness and the LT1\'s computer.

No. It says that the V6 ECU is retained, not the harness. Not in the LT1 swaps.
