Ok, I have a 92 4x4 4.3L (W vin code)with 8\" of lift on 33\'s, First What is the big diffrence between the Z, W vin code (been looking and only thing I found if it is right is W code is 195hp and Z 150Hp)?? This truck is for play\'n purpose\'s (mud). I am thinking about the 350, Got the block free from the father in law out of a 89 1500 full size chevy.
Ok, Should I stick with what I have put some performance parts on it make it a little Faster or Torqer(if that is a word)? and does any one know where I might be able to find so parts??
I hope this is the right section for this http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_confused.gif

GM motorsports does have a vast number of mods for their 4.3L. A friend was going to purchase thier 4.3L Bullet motor for 5k. I guess its pretty built. He said that you could buy all the pieces that they offered.
Otherwise Summit or Jegs. Not sure the quanity of 4.3 mod parts though.
The 350 would be a great improvement in power. Its all according to the amount of $$ you want to spend and how much time and skill you have to do a 4x4 s10 v8. Overall the work verse the play is worth it in the end.
8\" lift? what did you use or modify to get it that high? I need more tire clearance but don\'t want to spend a thousnd per inch.

If you have any body lift that make the V8 conversion alot easier. if yours still has the older style tbi you could pretty much just swap motor and use the same tbi for the new one. Assuming you dont get to wild with it.
From experience i say a lifted s10 just begs for a 350.
Im running a 355 with about 5-6 \" of lift and 31 and i still have enough get up and go to embaresses most ricers around me!

The parts for the 350 will be cheaper than for the 4.3. Also you can get a ton of stuff from the 1500 series trucks from junkyards, or you could just make it TPI. Carbed is something that limits which trails you can go on, so I guess that is the least favorite. If you go with the 350, it will have more power than the 4.3. The 305 does not make more torque than the 4.3.

Will did some more diging on the net and found out that I have the CPI not the TPI so I have the big engine. As for the lift I have a 3\" body with 5\" trailmaster so that makes it alot easier for the 350.(no cutting the oil pan), I have all the time and a garge to do it just was trying to figure out what to do.
Ok another question. I am going to rebuild this motor Is thier a rebuild kit some where that I can make it better then stock? (bigger and better) been looking on the net but there are somany diffrent kits. What is a good one or mix one with another?? http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif
