How hard of a swap is this? I already have a 400 Small block in there but I need to upgrade to a new engine for emissions, what would I need? and also what would I need to change? I also have a fuel cell with a holley blue pump, would I need a bigger fuel pump?
thanks!

There are articles on swapping an LS1 or 6 into a muscle-car. If I remember correct, HOT ROD or CAR CRAFT did one not too long ago. Also there is a guy on Ebay that sells a manual for the LS1 swap into an S10.

Well, for starters, the crossmember has to be notched considerably. Using the truck oil pan instead(4.8, 5.3, 6.0), allows less cutting, but the pan hangs down like 2 or 3\" lower than the crossmember.
Not a good idea IMO, at any ride height.
Standard sbc swap mounts won\'t work. You gonna have to make your own. Same goes for headers. I\'ve heard rumored that they\'re starting to make LS1 headers, but I haven\'t seen any yet.
That motor needs like 40+ fuel psi. Holley blue aint gonna cut it, thats got like, 15 or so?
That guys that sells the manual is LS1Blazer. Hes a member, and I seen his first LS1 install. Very nice, but looked like a hell of a headache.
Yes, the LS1 Headers are in the works.
We are now working on the 4x4 headers, which will be alot less expensive then the current option.
So look for the LS1 S10 V8 Conversion Headers in the future, I can\'t give a date but hopefully by the end of this year.
