i got a question about a 434 stroker... you think its worth the money i mean, i seen one for 1700...... i know 400\'s run hot alone with out any mods. but if you got the right radiator and cooling set-up i wouldnt see why i wouldnt get away with it anyone got any suggestions on a motor for me?I any small block, able to run pump gas, under $5,000.... anyone got any suggestions?

Who had that kit? Is it for a 400 main, or a 350? That would be a VERY torquey motor!

i would imagine is a 400 stroker.
I read in a performance magazine about a 454 small block that was built using a 350 style main block. ( i say style cause they had to use a aftermarket block with a raised cam location)
That would be a really nice motor!!

That is the one that i posted about a while back when someone asked how big you could make a 350.
I would recomend a 350 4 bolt main, bore it .030 to a 355. Roller cam right around .510 lift @.50 and .245 or so duration @.50. With some good aftermarket heads and probably a Dart Cool Can intake. about 11.0:1 compression and a 750 carb.
You would be set for a great running 355 if you went close to what i just said. and be about $3,500-$4,000 which still leaves you with $1000 or so to go for ignition, water pump, oil pan and timing cover and maybe some March underdrives.
