Does the 454 use the same motor mounts as the 350?

Go for it. Some people here seem to think it\'s as easy as putting a small block in one. I myself would tend to believe it is that easy, why is it there are no companies offering swap kits for them. I have seen a FEW done, but one must think about weight tranfer or the lack of it with a big block.
Now I know 454s10 will bad mouth me for this, but it is My opion and I have had a SB in mine for 13 years now and if I would have felt like putting a BB in mine it would have been there 13 years ago.
Well I\'ve rambled on long enoughso, as for the question.....SB-BB...same mounts in any Chevy. PERIOD!

it nice to know that my fellow v8 s10 friends know me really well.....yep im going to mouth ....the only dang difference is the exaust manifolds...whick regiure very little work to install.....fasrnur..im not mouthing ..lol..im glad you have had your small block in your truck for 13 years...i have had several snall blocks in mine also...but to me ..in was a near drop in...there is getting more more...big block s10 every week....the header companys ..will catch on soon....i really dont know why they have not yet....a header company could easyily make a set of fender well headers ...and stahul headers ..do make big block s10 headers...they just cost 1200.00...as with most new products ..they will go down after a few yeras...any way...the big block are easy..

you\'ll need to install stronger shocks to, unless you like the \"nose-dive\" look.

shocks have nothing to do with ride height, it is the springs that take care of that. shocks just control the compression and rebound rates.
sorry off topic

Okay, if I have the money, I can buy the parts that are required to install the engine. One of the comments that has my attention was about weight distribution. I would hate to have a squirrelly ride. If I have the thought process correct, there will be more weight ahead of the front wheels, which will make the backend lighter. I can lower the front end with spindles and I can lower the backend with a kit. That will drop the center of gravity. Installing torsion bars will help as well. I may need a manual brake system, which is okay. Why would I not install a 454? I am grinning already. Boys, I am going to install a 454!
