I\'m new to engine work and am in the process of putting a 80-85 chevy 350 in my 88 blazer. How do I tell if M=my transmission is a turbo 350 or 350C? When I bought the motor and trans, i got a 2500 stall with it, which I have installed already...will it work if its a 350C? or am i screwed.

350c\'s are lock up convertor models.

if it is a 350c I think it will have 2 prongs on the outside.

Look on the tag on the left side towards the top or on the right side, there should be a 12-14 digit number on it, use that number to cross reference the type of tranny it is. The 350C should work with any 350 but it has limitations that the regular 350 doesn\'t have, if you are able to find a turbo 400 depending on what your planning you might be better off.

I am running a turbo 400 on my small block 400, with a 2500 stall, Muncie shifter, and B&M shift kit..

The 350C will have an electrical connection on the side above the pan. If it is lock up style trans, you will have to modify it to accept a non-lockup converter.

the easy way to tell is look at the front shaft if it has splines all the way to the end it is a 350,if it has splines stopping and a smooth tip about an inch or so its a 350c. I just looked at mine its a 350c that needs to be rebuilt.the 350c is not good for high performance they say it is a lockup type http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_eek.gif

don\'t use a 350c they will not last rated for low power cars like v-6 week v-8. will last 2 weeks if driven hard
