ok i have an 87 700r4 thats been sitting for about a year now so i am going to rebuild it. then i was looing and found this
I saw this on eBay motors: 700r4 on Ebay (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2475269982)

now i live like 3-4 hrs from atl so i could pick it up and save myself the shipping charges, but a concern 29 element input sprag What is that refering too? i know some are 30 spline ect. just not sure if this is an older tranny or not. i.e. not worth the $$

Also pricing a rebuilds, is gonna run me 500-700 depending on who i brind it to.

FYI one of the reasons i\'d like to buy a new tranny is on my tranny one of the bell housing bolt holes broke off.

You are referring to the input shaft which is 30 spline on an 87 and up 700, and 27 spline input shaft which was pre 87. The 30 spline is the one to go for.

think it this way if there is something wrong with the trany. look how much trouble your going to have taking it back out shipping back so on and so on. in the long run your better off trying to find somethig local.

I would do a rebuild, that way you know what you got.
