I know there\'s a few police officers (and felons http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif ) here on S10V8.com, so I have a little question.

Let\'s say, hypothetically, you go past an officer doing things that may be illegal (like speeding on one wheel.) You see said officer again a few minutes later. He tails you, you gun it. You see lights in the mirror, then they\'re gone. Your not sure if he got your plate.

Now, if he got your plate, what can he (or she) do? Anyone have this happen?

You could tell the judge:

..............Hey, it ain\'t easy driving on one wheel.... and in doing that, you certainly don\'t have the time to be checking behind yourself for flashing lights and such, so who knew??

........... Or, you could plead insanity. After the first statement, you just might get away with it..... http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

most cruisers video system kicks in once the bar lights are activated. You\'ll prob get something in the mail.

I got pulled over for evading once, and it wasn\'t even me! They left my car open and it got trashed by the locals. The charges were dropped in court, but I was still left footing the deductable. No compenasation from the po-po. They don\'t have video in the cruisers here in Chicago, but you cant outrun motorola! Also, it doesn\'t take long for them to get a plate and description. If they can get you with video cameras for running red lights and speeding, a new thing in Chicago, then I would imagine they could get you for evading with just a plate number.

It was in a small town. I doubt they have cameras in the cars. If they do, I was about 200 feet away when they hit the lights (or at least when I noticed them). And they didn\'t get any closer after that. He chased me once and I lossed him (he never even got close). Then he saw me again and off we went. At the beginning of the second one it\'s possible he got my plate. And it hypothetically happened this morning at 7:30am.

if they hadn\'t got you by now they either didn\'t get your tag. or they are just waiting to see you on the road again, and call for back up before trying to stop you.

Well hell buddy, If that is the case then good luck and you had better go out in a blaze of glory! Show them what youve got under the hood.

all of my buddies run from the cops on their bikes. the cops around here dont feel like chasing some kids on bikes. Just lay low for a few days.

Yeah, I definitely don\'t plan on driving around there too soon.

most places there is a rule of thumb. catch you on the vehicle and place you in the act witin 24 hrs. i would put the bike in the back yard/ garage for a couple of days. then the heat is off.

i out ran a cop in my chevelle once and i got it into the shop and door shut before he cruised my street. i also told my parents that if a cop came to the door to not answer it for 24hrs.

it worked then but after that i always got tailed and had a constant patrol by my house. the only good thing from this is that the crime rate in my hood went way down due to the increased presence of the law.

hmmm.... ive never done anything like that, but it reminds me of a story my dad told me of when he lived in troy, michigan. he and his friend freddy were out cruising, they had jsut gotten their challenger on the road. went a bit too fast. cop saw them, didnt put up a chase, but took down the plate. later that day, a cop showed up at freddy\'s house, and they had parked the car in the garage, and taken tho motor aprt to make it seem that they hadnt been out. cop didnt appear to buy it since they had burns all over their hands from the hot oil http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_razz.gif

well...hypothetically a person wouldn\'t want to get in that situation cause it could result in a bad ending, but since it\'s just hypothetical...i guess hypothetically the person would be alright http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif

There is no 24 hour rule when it comes to the cop recognizing you or the bike and writing you 6-7 tickets unrelated to the prior incident. I had a friend who got busted drag racing, got a lawyer and the charges were dropped. After that the policeman who wrote him the ticket would go by his house in the morning and wait for him to leave about once a month and write him a ticket for loud pipes, failing to yield, etc. They can hold a grudge preety long. After about the fourth trip to court the judge started throwing them out.

I got lucky once, was home on leave from Germany and got pulled over for ding 85 in a 45, which I was driving my old 86 S10 with a 2.5. So the first thing I did waws give him my military ID with my Driver license which that was expired. The first thing the cop ask me was that \" did you know your driver license is expired\" I said yes, but I am exempt because of military duty, then he said let me check, so after about 5 minutes he comes back says I was right. Then the cop ask where are you station at I said Germany, then he said no wounder why you was speeding. Then I was free to go, and I didn\'t get a ticket.

I fled the police last sunday which is cruise night for going 170 in a 60 zone. Cops were blocks behind so they couldn\'t get a plate.

170? What were you driving?

lol, i hope it was his s-dime!!

Anyways, the only time I would EVER run from police is if i went by them doing 90mph+ while they\'re stopped on the side of the road, simply because first off because it\'s unlikely they would catch you, second off because you have a liekly excuse that you didnt see their lights come on unless they started before you got past them and 3rd because most cops wouldnt excpect you to stop and/or wouldnt chase.

It\'s happened before to me once on purpose and another by accident (yeah, i ran by accident no joke) but I can\'t say id ever attempt it again. One thing you can\'t outrun is the motorola

Those metric speeds sound pretty fast. Bet he was going about 100 in a 35 zone, once you translate that for those of us who drive in miles.

I once blew by a couple of cops about 110 or so on my bike. When they pulled out and turned on their lights, I pulled over. Once they got up to me, they asked why I stopped, they were looking for a good chase. When I said I was tired and low on gas, they said to slow down and didn\'t write me a ticket. You never know what will happen.

It was 107mph in the S Dime. Some guy in a full size, lined up beside me at a light and I wasn\'t gonna do anything but he punched it off the line, so I had to play catch up so I punched it hit 2nd gear and squaked the tires and pulled within about one foot of his nose and then really started to pull on him and by 5000 in 3rd I was ahead of him by almost a truck length at 107mph. I then look in the rear view to see that 4 blocks back the cherries go on so I book it hard right onto a side street until he flies by chasing the other truck. Traffic was grid lock behind me because on Sundays down Portage Avenue there is thousands of cars cruising. We just happend to have a lot of free space infront of us.

You\'re running 11.98 and only pulled ahead of him by one truck length??

Street tires my friend, This truck was no stocker by any means. I would say it was an 80, reg cab short box. When I mean street tires I don\'t mean MT sportsmans either. Some cooper Cobra\'s GT\'s with 35psi in them.

I just talked to my friend who\'s a cop in the next town over from the one I was running in. He said if they got the plate I definitely would have heard from them by now. Guess I got away. http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif
