after i brief search, i couldnt find anything. also i didnt know where to put this so... here goes...
Im about to get a 6.0 (with harness and PCM)from a 99 silverado to replace the 4.3 in my 97 p/u. ive got all the wiring figures out, im about to install my e-fan, everything seems pretty good until... i find that the PCM needs to see a signal over the serial data lines from the BCM indicating the correct VIN, and that the corect key is in the ignition before the engine will start. i really dont wanna buy the BCM, key, transponder, and other redundant crap...
so the question is: what can i do to get past the vast/passkey without buying the BCM from the donor veh.?
what have others done?
