frist hi to all

i have a problem with my truck trans

frist i dont have a v8 in there yet i want to be money is tight right now

so i just have my 2.8 in there

the proplem is that i cant shift in to frist gear easly i shift in to frist but it does not stay there i have to try it about 3-5 times before it will stay it will just bounce out and grind gears i can keep it in gear if i down shift but i still have to play with the clutch a little to get it to click in .

it all started when my drive shaft came unblanced and my shacked my trans loose and it just when down from there i droped my trans and got in a new poilt bearing and looked at my clutch it looked fine so i put it back up and tryed it did not want to work right so i blead the clutch more and i get about 1 1/2 inch i think more through on the fork it moves the same as it did before when i frist did my clutch 10 months ago

so i looking for help and ideas on what is wrong i have been looking for a new trans but i dont want to get one if that is not the problem so plz if any one can give some help

thx if you need anymore info on my truck i will be gladly give it to you

thx

Your truck is just trying to give you a reason for a v8 swap cause your motor is screwed that why it doent want to stay in first gear.

Just kidding, First i would double check any linkages to make sure there not bent or broken and properly adjusted.

Check the bushing where the shift lever goes into the trans first. After that I would say it might be a synchro ring worn out, try leaving the clutch disengaged longer then put it in gear. If that works it could be out of alignment or bad pilot into the engine. That could also make it a bad first gear synchro. I am assuming this is a T5 or T4, which it should be. These clutches are also a pain to bleed, so I would do that a couple of more times just to make sure.

I hope this is not your tansportation to school \'cause it seems as though you\'ve missed quite a few days already...(J/K)

frist - first

proplem - problem

easly - easily

unblanced - unbalanced

shacked - shook

droped - dropped

blead - bleed
