ok got my tranny out the shop today YAY (only $550) Now i\'m looking into a stall converter namely
I saw this on eBay motors: Stall Converter (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2478685179)

debating between that one or a 2200 stall from 700r4.com where i got my TV cable setup from. know i\'ve seen diff auctions say stock stall is between 1200-1400 and 1600-1800 was wondering which is correct. i\'m running a 78 350 0.30 over truck motor edlebrock rpm alum intake. not a big cam or anything. pretty much stockish/ slightly built. i didn;t want a Huge stall but a nice lil one. it\'ll mainly be a weekend when its nice driver around town aka a toy.
any info or suggestions gladly welcome

280?
I\'d go with no more than a 1800-2000 stall.

That is his advertised camshaft duration. I would recommend 2500.

advertised? sorry dont know much on the internals this is my learning project have picked up alot of stuff during but bought the motor as 1 piece so didn\'t learn much about camshafts rods pistong combinations all that stuff. i had to ask my buddy who i got the motor from what the cam was http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif that\'ll be my next project once this is ehh driving (wont say done, it\'ll never be done) i wanna build a motor for something maybe this truck maybe somethin else
i\'d kill for a 68 camaro with an I6 or blown motor to throw a BB 454,502 something BIG lol but got shove some more $$ and time into this first

If that\'s his advertised duration, that\'s waayyyy bigger than a \"little more than stock\"
it\'s going to have a rough idle and will probably be overboard for stock heads. You will make much better, usable power out of a smaller cam.

doesn\'t* idle rough. it has stock 4-barrel heads. came out of a 72c-10 with th350 stock convertor. when i ran it before timing was alil off but idled fine. chking with my buddy again it may be a 262 http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_wink.gif so no exactly sure what i have in there but i know it not the stock cam but its nothing extreme either

262 sounds a little better.
that\'s what I\'m running (compcam xtreme energy 262H with a 1800-2000 stall in a 700R)
