Its up too you. Do u want an easy installation or hard one. easy would be automatic. little more work would be standard. ITs ur choice!

All the real good performance manual transmissions are going to set you back some dough, so unless you already have one or can get a deal, I would say auto.

Easiest is auto, probably best for daily driver as well.
Although with that being said, I wouldn\'t trade my stickshift for anything!!!!

Seems like you can install a four speed stick for relatively the same cost as an automatic?
Which is the other ? are you talking turbo 350/400 or a 700r4 etc?
The 3spd autos are cheap and reliable, a 4spd auto might cost more up front, but if your doing a lot of hwy driving might be the ticket.

most stickshifts have some issues with the clutch linkage in the S10 due to lack of room to fit both headers and slave cylinder. I like my automatic just like anyone else.

I\'d say auto..easier, cheaper, and all that good stuff

Go with a full manual shift automatic. I just put a manual valve body in my TH-350 and can\'t wait until I get it back in the truck.

I had a stick, but got tired of shifting all of the time. It was great at first, but soon grew old.

ah man, you must not be a real stickshift enthusiast :/ Personally It\'s the exact opposite for me every time. I get tired of not doing anything. (i know some of you have manumatics)
It\'s all a matter of personal opinion but I have fun kicking my gears http://www.s10v8.com/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif

i personally dont know of a stick that would hold a 383 stroker, maybe a T-56, but, they are expensive.

I think it depends where you live. A stick can get old in Chicago in rush hour when you are only moving 10-15 ft at a time. I love driving a stick myself, by my truck is not my primary vehicle. I am going to switch to auto as soon as I get enough time because the ratios in my stick dont suit my engine very well. We sell the T56 conversion transmissions at work, they work with the mechanical speedo and that bolt up to the old muncie style or Camaro T5 bell housing, and we also sell Tremec TR3500 and TKO transmissions. But even at company cost they are expensive and more than I am willing to spend.
