Well I finnally put my motor in my K5. We started it up and it sounded real good for about 15 minutes. Then I started noticing a slight knocking. So I assumed it was just a rocker arm that needed adjusted. So I pulled off the valve covers and proceeded to set the valves. Well that didn\'t help. So I checked the torque coverter to make sure it was tight to the flex plate and it was. So I checked the compression and it was also good. My oil pressure was at a constant 70psi so no spun bearing. Finally I pulled spark plug wires on each cyclinder. I finally got to the 8th cylinder and it quit knocking. So I think it is a wrist pin. So now I get to get in a fight with the business that built my motor. Hopefully they will honor their warranty! Just thought I would share my shitty day with everyone!

sorry to hear that, atleast you dealt with a place that offers warrenties, some people don\'t even do that and when it blows all they say is to bad.

Are you sure it has good piston to valve clearance on all cyl.?

I\'m wondering because I had them cut the valves larger (from 1.94 to 2.02) and on the 8th cylinder the valvespring looks about an 1/8\" lower than the others which means they didn\'t cut it as deep or it is bent or sticking. But I don\'t see why it would quit the noise when I pulled the sparkplug if I didn\'t have good clearance. We are calling the machine shop today.
