I bought a mallory unilite distributor from e-bay. It has a three wire connector. The wire colors are red, green and brown. Can anyone tell me how to hook this distributor up?

just looked at wiring diagram. brown goes to ground or neg on battery, green goes to coil neg. green on your tach also goes here, red goes to pos. on coil the hot wire feeding the coil should have a ballast resister going to the coil pos.

and if you do not have that resistor you will blow your coil up. I did!!!. I paid a couple bucks for it and I wish I had it before I blew up a master blaster.

I have a msd 6al hooked to mine so they say you don\'t need a ballast resistor.

I just got a new Mallory Unilite distributor and Promaster coil and they say it hooks right up to 12 volts without a ballast resister! I\'m going to try it and see. Mallory may be sending me a \"new\" replacement coil.
